The local club of the GAA, the Ottawa Gaels, are pleased to be hosting the Eastern Canadian Championships in Ottawa - in celebration of Canada's 150th - on the weekend of September 1-3, 2017 and will be welcoming GAA Clubs from PEI, Halifax, Quebec City and Montreal. The Irish Ambassador to Canada, Jim Kelly, will be hosting our group at his residence on the Friday evening and our Gaelic games will run all day on Saturday the 2nd culminating in a banquet that evening.
Itinerary for the weekend:
Friday, September 1– 7:00-8:30pm
· Reception at Irish Ambassador Jim Kelly's residence
Saturday, September 2 – 9:00 am to 5:00pm
· Games at Twin Elm Rugby Park (4075 Twin Elm Road, North Gower, Ontario K0A 2Z0)
Saturday, September 2 – 6:30pm (cocktails), 7:00pm (dinner) to 1:00 am
· Banquet at St Brigid's Centre for the Arts
Sunday, September 3 – 8:00 am to 12:00 pm
· Breakfast and viewing of Hurling Championship Final at Heart & Crown (Byward Market)
