A Celtic Christmas - Celebrating 150 Years at St. Patrick's Fallowfield - 18 Dec 2016

Join us in celebrating St. Patrick's Parish (Fallowfield) - 150th anniversary.  We are fortunate to welcome three, very talented, local artists to lead us in a joyful afternoon for sing-along Christmas carols, as well as lively jigs and reels, on fiddle, piano, mandolin, flute, and more!

Anna Ludlow (fiddle) appeared on the Nova Scotia music scene in the early 1990s and has since been captivating audiences across North America. She's studied and collaborated with some of eastern Canada's most celebrated artists.  In 2005, she became the principal fiddle player for DRUM!, the critically acclaimed (and Juno nominated) touring production from Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Since then, her career has flourished and she has entertained royalty, celebrities and Olympic athletes. Now living in Ottawa, she is working on her upcoming album which fuses traditional Celtic tunes with a modern percussive vibe and showcases her versatility as a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and step-dancer.

Tyson Chen (piano) currently performs an eclectic mix of musical styles including Celtic, popular, classical, and jazz. He complements his performances by teaching workshops and private lessons with a focus on Cape Breton piano accompaniment. Audiences, musicians, and students are drawn to his vibrant piano performances, engaging personality, and professionalism.

He studied classical and popular music in Ottawa, where he grew up. In recent years, he has lived and breathed Celtic music in the heart of Cape Breton where he has become a popular piano accompanist among fiddlers. He has also recently explored the world of jazz music and is currently studying jazz and Celtic piano in Ottawa.

Graham Lindsey (mandolin, flute) began writing Celtic- and traditional-style instrumental tunes back in 2014. His music has been described as being written by a listener: interesting tunes for the audience, but not necessarily Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton or Québecois. He is a multi-instrumentalist (percussion, flute and most recently mandolins and banjo) and he adds those sounds as he plays with a number of Celtic bands and fiddlers.

When he's not playing with a band, you can find him playing sessions across the country, or in a number of other musical settings. In his spare time, Graham is on the board of the Canadian Folk Music Awards, is involved in this country's wider folk music community, and runs a media production company (Wavelength Media).  Sharing music, though, remains his greatest joys evidenced by the idiots grin he often sports while playing.
